Film Night: Hidden Figures

Dean Close School, Shelburne Rd, Cheltenham GL51 6HE Map

If you are aged 16yrs+ and interested in careers in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM), please join us from 6.00pm in the Orangery of the Bacon Theatre for an opportunity to meet Gloucestershire STEM employers to find out more about their industries, roles and what they look for from their staff.

Hidden Figures tells the incredible untold story of Katherine Jonson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae) – brilliant African-American women working at NASA who served as the brains behind the launch into orbit of astronaut John Glenn, a stunning achievement that turned around the Space Race. The visionary trio crossed all gender and racial lines and inspired generations.

It was chosen by National Board of Review as one of the top ten films of 2016 and was nominated for numerous awards, including three Oscar nominations and two Golden Globes. It also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Free refreshments will be served.
